CTS Completes Successful Upgrade of High-Care Facility Electrical Room

January 16th, 2026 – CTS successfully completed a comprehensive electrical room upgrade for a premier high-care food processing facility, modernized its power distribution network, and significantly boosted overall plant energy efficiency.
High-care food manufacturing demands uncompromised reliability, stringent hygienic environments, and precise environmental controls. To support these operational requirements, CTS executed a multi-phase system overhaul designed to eliminate electrical bottlenecks and minimize plant downtime.

Key upgrades to the facility included replacing legacy, overcrowded electrical gutters with an open overhead cable tray system, simplifying routing, improving thermal dissipation, and enhancing hygienic maintenance access. Upgrades also included retiring aging switchgear to make way for a state-of-the-art Main Distribution Panel (MDP) and a newly structured Motor Control Center (MCC) room as well as strategic rerouting of plant-wide cabling optimized the electrical layout, reduced voltage drop over long runs, and improved overall operational safety.
Many of the plant’s existing variable frequency drives (VFDs) were tied into the existing gutter system with sub-optimal routing.
Beyond upgrading core equipment, the redesigned electrical layout significantly improves energy efficiency across the facility. By streamlining cable paths, upgrading to high-efficiency distribution components, and centralizing motor controls, CTS reduced electrical losses, improved system power quality, and ensured the plant operates on a resilient foundation built for future expansion.
